Whilepeople from a certain countryare forced to defecate in the open streets and roads, its neighbouring one is busy turning their public toilets into five-star hotel lavatories.
Usually people avoid public toilets due to their stinky, filthy and gag-inducing environment. But the local government in Chongqing, China is looking to turn this opinion around, as they have created a new five-star facility in the Bishan district of Chongqing.
This facility comprises of 150-square-meter restrooms with stunning interior design entailing marble floors, granite imitation walls, urinal separators, lacquered wood doors and even chandeliers.
The bathroom is also centrally heated, with a 24-hour air-conditioning system which regulates the air quality and temperature all year round.
The lavatories can be easily mistaken for washrooms from a five-star hotel or restaurant, with its walls decorated with lovely paintings with live plants and a background music adding to the luxury.
Each cabin has inductive water flushing equipment, and each urinal has a tinted glass window with a green park view.
Not only this gives the men to remain preoccupied while using the urinals, but it alsoincreases natural lighting inside the toilet, cutting down on the electricity costs.
Chongqing’s public toilets reportedly cost 800,000 yuan ($115,785), which seems like a lot of money. But hey, at least someone is taking the problem of providing adequate excretory facilities seriously!
